About Cheyenne Hills Church

Cheyenne Hills Church began in 1992 to reach the unchurched of Cheyenne*. Our founding Pastor, Dick Young, began with only 30 people meeting at Children’s University. Today, with two weekend services on our newly expanded campus east of Cheyenne, we continue to expand our reach “Across the Street and Around the World.” *At that time, a demographic study found that 20,000 in Cheyenne did not attend any church, the largest void in the state.

Saturday Breakouts

“The Pastor Theologian: Resurrecting an Ancient Vision” – Dr. Joel Lawrence
This presentation lays out a vision for the identity of the pastor as pastor-theologian, reflecting on the pastorate today and ways a new pastoral identity can renew our mission as pastors.

Mentoring a Google Generation – Dr. Galen Huck
Thirty years ago we were told to go find someone successful in your field and ask to be mentored by them. Today mentoring has lost its value as students can Google information they seek. We need to recapture the value of teaching certain aspects of ministry that can only be learned side by side.

Small Town, Big Impact: How to see my small town the same way Jesus does – Pastor Ty DesEnfants
In this breakout session, designed specifically for people living and ministering in small-town and rural contexts, participants will grapple with the challenges and opportunities within small-town ministry. The session aims to challenge perspectives and inspire attendees to view their communities as unique opportunities for meaningful impact. Through biblical insights and practical discussions, participants will learn to uncover the hidden potential of their small town with renewed vision and some practical tools along the way.

Authentic Witness: Sharing Jesus through Building Intentional Relationships – Pastor Drew Tarwater
What if the best way to share our faith isn’t through a program or process but rather through building friendships? Join us as we explore how building intentional authentic relationships creates opportunities to share our faith and gives you a powerful tool to help your church become more engaged in evangelism.

Discover, Connect, Belong: A Guide to Growing Your Church Community Through Google Search and Social Media – Pastor David Elijah
There are many people in your neighborhood searching for a church home. The question is, how will they find YOUR church? Using simple tools like Google search and social media, we can optimize online visibility through strategic keywords and harnessing the engaging power of social platforms. This session is designed to equip you with the tools to reach and resonate with families in the digital landscape, ensuring that your church becomes a beacon of hope for those actively searching for a church home. Explore proven methods for enhancing your online presence, fostering meaningful connections, and ultimately, inviting individuals to find a sense of belonging within the walls of your church.

Fueling Your Ministry With Practices from the Global Church – Ivan Veldhuizen
The global church has proven to be resilient, effective, innovative, and deeply spiritual. Against all odds, it has often multiplied in biblical proportion and remained unwavering in its pursuit of making disciples. We will reflect on some biblical principles, real-life examples and leaders of the global church. The global church can inform us for our context here in the U.S. It will inspire you to new things and challenge you to rethink a few things, too.

Dodgeball. Donuts. Discipleship. – Student Ministries Team
You never really know what you’re going to get in the world of student ministry. Ministry to teens is one of the most important elements of the church, and yet it’s often overlooked and under-resourced. Join us for a conversation on how to maximize your impact with the students you serve by understanding who they are, what they need, and how you can effectively disciple them for lifelong faith.
